I mailed a package USPS with delivery confirmation but says it hasn't been received and seller wants refund?

Who's at fault? USPS or me? Why should I refund him for something the Postal Service lost? He didn't ask for insurance. Some packages i've sent have arrived but the "The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper..." message remains. Is he just trying to get some money after receiving his item? Any help is welcome. thank youI mailed a package USPS with delivery confirmation but says it hasn't been received and seller wants refund?
Depends what kind of item and the price attatched to it. If you have proff of mailing it out an dthe confirmation of delivery it rests soley on USPS. You do not have to give him his money back because if you do then technically your items is now lost.. so what next.. still gotta approach USPS... So he/she has to take it up with them.. if you hold all the proof then its not your fault.. i would assist in trying to find that package or helping the consumer come to a resolution... not your fault though... assuming all the confirmations are legit.

In the future offer and reccomend insurance... or just absorb the cost of insurance that way you wont have to deal with this stuff... all in all packages should not be lost.. insurance or not.. it HAS to be somewhere.. or its stolen.... or like you sai dhe got the item and trying to rip you off.I mailed a package USPS with delivery confirmation but says it hasn't been received and seller wants refund?
