shouldn't have spent it until it was certain th guy recieved the goods. let this be a lesson for the future.

what to do now? borow the money from a patient friend, sort stuff out with the insurance company and once you have the money back pay back the friend.
I sell things on ebay but I never sent things to Mexico :s

Back to the subject: Tell the guy that you having a problem with the insurance and hopefully that will buy you some time, also give the guy a copy of the tracking number of the parcel so he can try to claim too.

In the mean time, try to make the 拢800 FAST by selling more stuff or even ask your bank to borrow you the 拢800 as a loan/overdraft until you get paid.

Next time you sell something on ebay, wait until the person got the item first before you spend the money. An eBay item i sold for 拢800 hasn't arrived, the guy wants a refund but ive spent all the money??!!!!?
Start the claims process and let the buyer now everything you are doing. Honestly, 3 weeks for an international shipment doesn't mean it is lost yet. It may still turn up. PayPal can take the money back from the credit card of checking account that is tied to your paypal but that won't happen if you keep them informed of your progress working with the post office. You will see how to do that if the buyer files a claim.
You should make the application to the insurance company. Write to the person explaining exactly what has happened, when it happened and what you are doing about it.

Contact E-Bay to let them know of the event with the above information and the company you used to deliver the parcel because they are responsible. Use all proof you have of posting the item to get something from them too.An eBay item i sold for 拢800 hasn't arrived, the guy wants a refund but ive spent all the money??!!!!?
you need to firstly open a dispute with paypal and contact ebay, if you have proof of postage and the tracking number copy it and send it to them, also you need to go to the post office and file for lost packages. if you have legit posted it and it was signed for so it should have a tracking number then your not obliged to refund him
Isn't there a tracking number. With some people it could have gotten there but they are just saying it hasn't. I have delt with that on eBay before.
Sorry, but you (as the seller) are completely responsible for any shipping or transit problems.

You pay for the postage, so the contract for carriage is between you and the post office or whatever carrier you use.

As you say the item was insured, just tell the buyer that and re-assure him that you are pursuing it through the post office, and he will get either the item or a refund once they investigate it.

If you've not done so, give him the tracking number and a link to the tracking page on the post office (or carrier's) web site, so he can see for himself that it was sent OK and you are acting in good faith.

I've had stuff that's had Airmail carriage paid end up being sent by surface mail before now, so it's spent about six weeks on a ship somewhere before eventually turning up.

Three weeks is not that long, considering shipping plus slow customs processing.

Keep the buyer informed, and keep a note of what you have done and when re. chasing it up.
